Lakeside Area Neighbors Association enjoys an Uptown United event.

She grew up in a small town of 5,000 people based in an agricultural reserve outside Washington, D.C.  She is the daughter of a nurse and a scientist at the National Institute of Mental Health, and sister to both a mental health case manager at Allegheny Hospital and a 16-year-old German Shepherd-Husky. Her father and grandfather are both veterans, having served in the US Public Health Service and the US Navy.

Running chemistry experiments—if elected, Marianne will be the first trained PhD scientist to ever serve on Chicago City Council!

Marianne attended college at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland where she was a member of the varsity swim team and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She completed a PhD in Chemistry at Northwestern University and went on to serve as a legislative fellow covering energy and environment in the office of US Senator Sherrod Brown. She works as a scientific research consultant.
